SÃO PAULO (Reuters) - Mato Grosso's soybean harvest in 2024/25, which will be planted from September, was estimated this Monday at 43.7 million tons, stable compared to the previous month's forecast, which considers a slight increase in planted area compared to the previous harvest, according to data from the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea).

The harvest could surpass the total harvested in the previous cycle by 11.85%, when the drought affected productivity.

According to Imea, the planted area is expected to grow 0.64% compared to the previous cycle, to 12.56 million hectares, while productivity could increase by more than 11%.

Imea also raised the projection for the 2023/24 corn harvest, which is being harvested, to 45.8 million tons, compared to 45 million in the May forecast. Even so, production would fall compared to last season due to a decline in the planted area.
